The Pineville Heist

There is this great book called ‘The Pineville Heist’ written by Lee Chambers.

We are providing you with a brief synopsis on the story:

Twelfth grader Aaron Stevens accidentally stumbles upon the aftermath of a five million dollar bank robbery in the woods while on the way to school. While hiding under a canoe, he witnesses a murder and manages to sneak away with a bag of the stolen money. Making his way back to the school he tells his shocking tale to Amanda, his drama teacher.

In his locked down High School, the psychotic robbers relentlessly pursues Aaron and Amanda in a quest to get the money back and wipe out the evidence. The only thing standing between freedom and certain death is Officer Smith. Will he get to them in time, and will Aaron and Amanda survive the night of the Pineville Heist?

Chambers has been working diligently on getting this book transferred to film. ‘The Pineville Heist’ is currently involved in a Canadian film contest from Cinecoup.

The CineCoup Film Accelerator is a disruptive model for indie filmmakers to develop, market and finance their feature films. Filmmaking teams apply to CineCoup with a two-minute trailer then advance through a gamified selection funnel that’s designed to package their projects and build fan support on the CineCoup social web platform.

All filmmakers who participate stand to gain valuable audience feedback, social media savvy and a professional online pitch package bolstered by fan support. The Top 10 projects will be optioned for development. A jury of industry professionals and a CineCoup Superfan will select one project for up to $1 million (CDN) in production financing and guaranteed release in Cineplex theatres in January 2014.

This contest is based purely on fan feedback and it is vital that we all get involved in making this dream a reality for Chambers and his team. “The Pineville Heist’ reached the Top 60 but fell flat of reaching the next level. They are currently in the running for a wildcard entry into the Top 15. We urge you to join us and vote for this film! Let’s get them the funding they need to get production moving. Voting begins in 2 days for this next step!
