Henry Cavill speaks at Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures preview ‘Man Of Steel’ during Comic-Con International 2012 at San Diego Convention Center on July 14, 2012 in San Diego, Calif.According to Variety, “Man of Steel” star Henry Cavill is in talks to take over Tom’s role in the upcoming spy thriller, “The Man From U.N.C.L.E.”

Henry would co-star with Armie Hammer and Alicia Vikander in the Guy Ritchie-directed movie.

The British actor, who dons the iconic Superman cape this summer, first read for the role being played by Armie.

Tom dropped out of the big screen version of the 1960s spy television series because it will overlap with filming on “Mission: Impossible 5.”

NBC first aired “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.” from 1964-1968.

Tom isn’t the first actor to exit the project. At one point, George Clooney was attached, but he too exited the project.
